Rogers Ledge (2,965 ft) sits in the remote Pilot Range of northern New Hampshire, along the Kilkenny Ridge Trail. The summit is a broad, south-facing cliff ledge with a sweeping panorama taking in the Carter Range, the high Northern Presidentials, the Androscoggin River Valley, and the distant Mahoosuc peaks. Added to the NH 52 With a View list in 2020, it delivers impressive views despite its modest elevation, and its northerly location near Stark keeps crowds light even on weekends.
The most popular approach follows the Kilkenny Ridge Trail from the South Pond Recreation Area, covering about 8 miles round trip with roughly 1,900 feet of elevation gain. The trail begins flat along South Pond's shore before climbing gradually through a northern hardwood forest with several small stream crossings; one unbridged crossing requires rock-hopping and can be awkward in high water. The final mile steepens before a short scramble leads to the open ledge. The route is known for muddy stretches and blowdowns, so waterproof footwear is a practical choice. A designated campsite near the summit makes an overnight approach feasible. The road to South Pond is seasonal; when it's closed, hikers add a mile each way. An alternative approach comes from the southeast via York Pond Road near the Berlin Fish Hatchery.
Fall foliage frames the southerly views especially well, and the gradual grade makes Rogers Ledge one of the more approachable peaks on the 52 With a View list despite its distance from the trailhead.
